Romans 8:26 – 27

26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

REFLECTION

With time I have realized people love God and prayers. We may not have the same prayer patterns, but we all know prayer works. I also want to acknowledge that we at times find we have items we have been battling with for a while. Could it be there is an item you have that has taken time?

Today I want to talk to you. There are items that take time on God’s in tray because of the way we are praying for them. You could be praying for your spouse to change and maybe you are the one who should change. That’s why the bible says we do not know how we ought to pray but the spirit makes intercession for us with sighs too deep for words. The spirit intercedes for us according to the will of God because He understands the mind of God.

Pray in words and also in the Holy Spirit. Words help us to outpour ourselves before God, we pray like we feel it, the Spirit comes in to help us pray the will of God which may be far from what we are thinking.

1 Corinthians 14:14 – 15

14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.

Paul says he will pray in the spirit and also with his understanding (words), he will sing in the spirit and also with his understanding. This is wisdom. Don’t just use words in your prayers speak in tongues. If you do not speak in tongues believe God for his in filling, He is faithful.

There is a time an item is so hard for you and the spirit groans (sighs) in us. At this point no words come out. The scripture says groans so deep for words. At this point it is the Holy Spirit praying in us. He reads our hearts and makes intercession for us to God. How lovely!

The Holy Spirit teaches us how to pray. He is the one who reveals the will of God to us: in visions, dreams, word of wisdom, prophecy, interpretation of tongue or even the word of knowledge. Desire the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and you will love praying.

When you pray in the Spirit your prayer is rejuvenated, full of revelation and sweet. You feel the presence of God as you pray. He directs your words and reminds you the right scripture for your prayer item. What a great thing!

PRAYER

Oh Lord God almighty, I come before your throne to ask for grace. I desire a rejuvenation in my prayer. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and teach me how to pray in the Spirit. This I pray in Jesus name, amen.
