And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
Mark 11:23
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
REFLECTION
Faith is the language of heaven. For us to get the heavenly things we must have the currency of heaven to buy them. You cannot walk in a store and pick items and expect the cashier to understand. He/she will need cash or a debit card or a credit card if you have the facility. No amount of pleading will do you any good. Hence the things of God.
The scripture says without faith it is impossible to please God. This tells me no matter the value of your sacrificial giving or the devotions you make in a day without faith it can never please God. Faith is not physical; that’s why it is easy to miss on the things of God. The beauty of faith comes in Jesus words in Luke 17:6 “faith as a grain of mustard seed”.
Mustard seeds are defined as the small round seeds of various mustard plants. The seeds are usually about 1 to 2 millimeters (0.039 to 0.079 in) in diameter and may be colored from yellowish white to black. (It is the smallest of all the seeds)
Jesus says such a small seed size of faith can move a sycamine tree to the sea; implying we can ask for the unthinkable. Can you imagine- the bare minimum that God asks from us yet we fail? I wonder how many of us have asked for a tree or mountain to move to the sea (it is not in our norm), yet this is what God promises.
Whatever we are asking from God we must ask in faith and not doubt. Doubt is the enemy of faith. It is normally a very thin line. Doubt manifests as fear, questioning, facing reality or unworthiness. The password of receiving what we have asked for is FAITH, asking is the username.
The scripture in Hebrews above indicates we must believe that God is there and is the rewarder of them that seeks Him earnestly. We seek God in prayer and He rewards us by answering our prayer. May you be full of God’s rewards in your life in Jesus name.
PRAYER
God almighty, I come before your throne in humility. I believe that you exist and that you are the rewarder of them that seek you earnestly. I choose to walk by faith and not by sight as the bible says. Keep me from doubt that I may please you forever. I desire to be a man/woman of faith, help me to achieve this in Jesus name I pray and believe. Amen.
