“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8:22
There is a time for everything. In life times and seasons are inevitable; I have come to appreciate that whatever served you in the previous season may be automatically rendered useless or with no effect in the preceding season. We need to learn the season we are in. If you don’t understand the season you are in you will not dress appropriately or even carry the right tools and the equipments to help you on your way.
Understanding seasons is wisdom and is not common. The bible says the sons of Issachar understood seasons and had people at their command. I hope someone captures something here (their ability to know seasons made them leaders/ gave them influence).
“From Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do: 200 chiefs with all their kinsmen at their command.” 1 Chronicles 12:32
Spiritual insensitivity robs us of open doors, friends or even necessary preparations which in return may cause us to miss our breakthroughs. As we soak ourselves in the presence of the Holy Spirit we become sensitive to time, the environment and our surrounding, God’s will among others. We also learn what God wants us to do at any particular time, when to let go, when to hold on, when to fight, when to just sit down and watch.
The encouraging bit is; times and seasons change but our heavenly Dad doesn’t. He is outside time and He determines the end from the beginning. As issues come to us they maybe new, surprising or even unpleasant but to our loving Dad; He knows exactly what will happen next. Figuratively speaking He cannot forget that you need winter boots come winter season neither swimming costumes come summer, neither now nor time to come.
“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.” Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is God Himself. When we are in God we grow in wisdom as we continue to know Him. This wisdom is all weathered and cannot be obtained from anywhere else.
Oh Lord, my God, I thank you for choosing me and for bringing me into the knowledge of truth. Thank you for the gift of your son Jesus Christ. I appreciate your love and care in all times and seasons of my life. You are an all sufficient God, omnipotent, omniscient, everlasting Father. I commit myself to you for guidance and love. May I be still in your presence everyday and know you are in-charge and in control of my life, situations and circumstances. I choose to love you and follow as you lead. In Jesus name I pray.
